This syrup deserves it’s very own post. It’s just that good!  Grandma’s Pancakes are good, but this syrup takes them over the edge in deliciousness!! Yes, this recipe deserves double exclamation marks. I have to warn you, after you make your pancakes with this special syrup, Aunt Jemima and Mrs Butterworth’s will no longer be welcomed at your house 😃

Special Pancake Syrup

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter 1 stick
  • 1 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 TBLS white corn syrup
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Cook all ingredients, minus vanilla extract, over Medium heat. Boil for 7 minutes. *Use a large pot because mixture will foam. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract. Stir until foam goes away.

    1. Hi Debra! We usually don’t have enough of it, but the few times we had leftovers, I put in the fridge and it was still good a week later!

    2. Hi Debra! We usually don’t have leftovers for long, but it should last in the fridge for at least a week, if not longer. Just re-heat and enjoy!
