214.5 ounce cans Red Tart Cherries in Waterdrained
1 1/4cupsgranulated sugar
1/4cupcornstarch
1/2teaspoonvanilla extract
1/4teaspoonground cinnamon
Biscuit Topping:
1 1/2cupsBisquick baking mix
3/4cupmilk
2tablespoonsbuttermelted
1/4teaspoonground cinnamon
2tablespoonsgranulated sugar
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the drained cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well and pour into the prepared baking dish.
Bake the cherry filling in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, allowing it to start bubbling and thickening.
While the filling is baking, prepare the drop biscuit topping. Combine Bisquick baking mix, milk, melted butter, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Mix until just combined.
Remove the baking dish from the oven after 15 minutes. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit mixture evenly over the hot cherry filling. Sprinkle granulated sugar over the drop biscuits.
Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 18-22 minutes, or until the drop biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
