Instructions
Line a half baking sheet (18"L x 13"W) with parchment paper (or spray with baking spray) and preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the white cake mix, flour, dark brown sugar and salt until combined.
Add in the salted butter and egg and beat with a stand or hand mixer until a dough forms.
Press the mixture into the prepared pan in an even layer. You may want to use a rolling pin to help flatten it if needed.
Bake for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle on the dark chocolate chips in an even layer.
Allow the chocolate to set for 5 minutes and then spread with an offset spatula across the base until smoothly spread and completely melted.
Sprinkle the toffee across the top and allow the bars to cool completely.
Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Pro Tip:
For perfectly even bars, use a rolling pin to flatten the dough in the pan. This ensures even baking and consistent pieces when cut.
