These chocolate toffee bars start with a cake mix base that bakes up into a rich, dense layer, topped with melted chocolate and toffee chips. The best part? No need to cream butter or make fine crumbs like traditional bar cookies – just mix, press, bake, and top! Once they’ve cooled on a wire rack, you’ll have an impressive easy treat that looks like it took hours to make.

STEP 5: Bake for 14-16 minutes or until golden brown.

STEP 6: Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips in an even layer.

STEP 7: Allow the chocolate to set for 5 minutes and then spread with an offset spatula until smoothly spread and completely melted.
