If you’re a fan of Turtles candies, you’re going to love these Turtle Brownies! They combine the fudgy goodness of homemade brownies with layers of gooey caramel, pecans, and a chocolate drizzle.
111 ounce bag caramels, unwrapped(I used Kraft brand)
1/3cupheavy cream
1 1/2cupspecan halves
1/2cupmini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and melted butter until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Spread batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let brownies cool completely.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with heavy cream, stirring constantly until smooth. Pour evenly over cooled brownies.
Sprinkle pecans over the caramel layer.
Melt mini chocolate chips in the microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over the pecans and caramel.
Allow brownies to set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm. Cut into 9 large squares.
Notes
Pro Tip:
Let the brownies sit for a few hours or overnight to set the caramel, then use a sharp knife for clean, perfect slices! (NO! This isn't necessary, just makes it much easier to cut, I know how hard it is to not dig in immediately!!)
