HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER BONE IN PORK CHOPS STEP-BY-STEP:
Check out the quick visual guides below. For full instructions and ingredients, see the printable recipe card at the end and more tips on cooking pork chops to perfection.
STEP 1: In a small bowl, whisk together the avocado oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, pepper, and onion powder.
STEP 2: Place the pork chops in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the pork chops, making sure they are evenly coated. If desired, marinate the pork chops in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour for extra flavor.
STEP 3: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F. Remove the pork chops from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping.
STEP 4: Cook the pork chops in the air fryer for 6 minutes. Flip the pork chops and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F when measured with a meat thermometer. NOTE: If you’re using the DREO ChefMaker using the thermometer and Chef Mode, it will notify you when it’s done, just set it and forget it! I used the Classic Code mode here to be across the board with any air fryer brand.
STEP 5: Remove the pork chops from the air fryer and let them rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
PRO TIP:
For extra juicy pork chops, let them rest for a few minutes after cooking. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making each bite tender and flavorful.
Storage and Reheating:
Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container. It can be kept for up to 3 days.
Reheating: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F and cook the pork chops for 3-4 minutes or until heated through, or microwave for 1-2 minutes or until warm.
Freezing: Wrap each pork chop tightly in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe Ziploc bag. Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating.
Substitutions:
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- Pork Chops: Substitute with boneless pork chops or use a thicker but of chops.
- Avocado Oil: Use olive oil or any neutral cooking oil.
- Herbs: Substitute with fresh herbs if available, adjusting the quantity as needed. Just use your favorite herbs, switch them out!
