I have fond memories of drinking hot cocoa with my kids.  I’ll never forget looking at my firstborn son while he slept one winter many years ago when he was just a babe.  I wanted to share my love of hot cocoa with him at that very moment. I just couldn’t wait till he was old enough to enjoy this special drink.  Sounds idealistic now to write it out, but that really happened. LOL!

Fast forward many years and many kids later, now we all enjoy hot cocoa as a family.  At the very first snow flake the kids already know what awaits them!  Who am I kidding, we have it all year round, but especially in the cooler months!

I always felt there was something needed to go with our hot cocoa, and thanks to Octonuts, I’ve found the perfect missing ingredient!  It’s Almond Protein Powder!  It has an unsweetened nutty flavor that knocks this hot cocoa recipe out of the park!  Adults, and especially growing kids, need protein at every single meal and snack. Adding Octonuts Almond Protein Powder to hot cocoa takes away any mom guilt I once had over serving my kids hot cocoa often.  This makes me one happy Mommy!  Did I mention it’s just one single ingredient, yes, it’s true!  When I get excited about something, I really get excited!!

This is my new favorite hot cocoa recipe that I will be using for many more years to come, snow or not!
