This recipe is so much better than store-bought applesauce. With just a few simple ingredients, the slow cooker does all the work. You can even make unsweetened applesauce, without any added sugar. Last time I tried it with maple syrup and apple pie spice, and it turned out amazing!
If you go apple picking at the apple orchard and always come home with way too many apples, this is a great way to use them up! It’s become my favorite way to use them during apple season. This delicious homemade applesauce is one of my go-to apple recipes!

You’ll need the following ingredients to make this delicious applesauce:
- Mixed apples
- A Little water
- Brown sugar
- Granulated sugar
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg
- Salt
- Lemon juice
- Vanilla extract

How to make Slow Cooker Applesauce step-by-step:

Step 1: Peel apples and chop into small pieces. Place in slow cooker.
Step 2: Add water, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt to slow cooker. Stir to combine.
Step 3: Cover and cook on LOW 4 hours, stirring once halfway through until you have perfectly cooked apples.
Step 4: Remove lid and stir in lemon juice and vanilla extract.
Step 5: For chunky applesauce, mash with potato masher to desired consistency. For smooth applesauce, use immersion blender, hand mixer, food processor, or food mill.

- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
