Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting


This is a tasty frosting for the peanut butter lover!  Tastes great piled high on chocolate cupcakes.  It’s also a nice change from the typical Buttercream frosting.  If you need a quick, inexpensive homemade chocolate cupcake like the one pictured above, click here

LittleChefTip: Kids love decorating cupcakes. No decorating bag? No worries! Put frosting in a ziploc bag and cut off the corner for a makeshift piping bag.  Cut the hole as small or big as you like.

Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup milk or cream
  1. In a large bowl, beat butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Slowly beat in ½ of the confectioner's sugar.
  3. Mix in ¼ cup of the cream.
  4. Beat in the remaining confectioners' sugar.
  5. Mix till desired consistency, about 5 minutes.
  6. If necessary, add a little more cream or milk until the frosting reaches a good spreading consistency. Makes enough to frost one 2 layer 9 inch cake or one 9x13 inch cake.
