Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting

This is a tasty frosting for the peanut butter lover!  Tastes great piled high on chocolate cupcakes.  It’s also a nice change from the typical Buttercream frosting.  If you need a quick, inexpensive homemade chocolate cupcake like the one pictured above, click here

LittleChefTip: Kids love decorating cupcakes. No decorating bag? No worries! Put frosting in a ziploc bag and cut off the corner for a makeshift piping bag.  Cut the hole as small or big as you like.

Creamy Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup milk or cream


  • In a large bowl, beat butter and peanut butter until light and fluffy.
  • Slowly beat in 1/2 of the confectioner's sugar.
  • Mix in 1/4 cup of the cream.
  • Beat in the remaining confectioners' sugar.
  • Mix till desired consistency, about 5 minutes.
  • If necessary, add a little more cream or milk until the frosting reaches a good spreading consistency. Makes enough to frost one 2 layer 9 inch cake or one 9x13 inch cake.
